About Dr. Liz

If you can't fly, then run.

If you can't run, then walk.

If you can't walk, then crawl,

but by all means, keep moving.

Dr. Elizabeth Holder (Dr. Liz)

Dr. Elizabeth L. Holder, a Philadelphia native, is the current National Director of Patient Experience at Aramark Corporation. As a National Patient Experience Director within Aramark’s Healthcare and Hospitality sector, Dr. Holder has demonstrated proven ability to foster strong relationships with hospital executives, front line managers, and nursing leadership to drive patient satisfaction outcomes in hospitality services. With a passion for organizational development, she believes that her role as a system leader is to develop a service culture that demonstrates value and respect for all patients and families.

Dr. Holder received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from Arcadia University and Masters of Arts from LaSalle University. In March 2017, she successfully defended her dissertation titled, Career Entry, Retention, and Advancement Enablers and Barriers for Black Female Nurses: An Interpretive Study, in Saint Joseph University’s (SJU) Interdisciplinary Doctor of Education Program for Educational Leaders (IDEPEL). During her tenure as a System Patient Experience Manager, Dr. Holder developed an insatiable research interest to understand the role of facilitators and barriers in the career success of Black female nurses. A diverse healthcare workforce plays a vital role in the patient experience outcomes for patients, and Dr. Holder believes this research will offer higher education institutions and healthcare organizations recommendations to improve the retention and advancement of Black female nurses in the profession.

Dr. Holder has received a number of honors over the years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from LaSalle University in Clinical Counseling Psychology, with a focus in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Most recently, she was inducted into the College of Arts and Sciences (SJU) honor society for graduating in the top 5% of the graduating class, and the recipient of the Rashford Award for an outstanding dissertation for her Ed.D. thesis.

March 2018, Dr. Holder and other Aramark colleagues were privileged to present with the Main Line Health’s senior executive team at the American College of Healthcare Executive (ACHE) Congress of Healthcare Leadership. The title of our presentation was Journey To Exceptional Patient Satisfaction Through Culture Transformation. This presentation demonstrated the partnership between a healthcare system and a contract organizations ability to align in a way to improve the patient experience and patient satisfaction.

In November 2019, Dr. Holder guest lectured at Villanova University discussing Strategic Planning and Community Outreach. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Saint Joseph University.
